‘Food for pleasure and good living’: Slow Food

We support the Slow Food Movement in Ireland. "Slow Food" is an international movement started in Italy to counter the industrial-scale production of poor quality foods. It’s aims are to support quality artisan food producers and maintain the biodiversity of our food supply. Related to this is the belief that a quieter, less frenetic life is better for your health, their manifesto staunchly defending “the right to pleasure”. For further information please see www.slowfoodireland.com.

Support Your Local Farmer's Market

Please support the farmer's market inn the Market Yard beside Dunnes Stores Car Park every Thursday from 9am to 2pm. Only your constant support will ensure the survival of the market, and increased interest will allow it to grow and prosper! Please spread the word amongst your friends, neighbours and anybody that might like to shop there. You can now purchase a great deal of your weekly shopping from organic fruit and vegetables to bread and cakes, preserves, cheeses, sausages, home-made butter, real buttermilk, home-made chocolates, fish and organic meats.
